ABOUT THE FOOD
BARF is an English acronym for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food, referring to natural diet as the basis of healthy life.
Correct diet is one of the life energy sources and if it is balanced, that is harmonized, it is an elixir of life.
Since cats and dogs are carnivores (Carnivore, from lat. Caro, carnis = meat and vero = to swallow), it is the healthiest for them to eat raw meat meals. The nature has given them diet pointers for long life and good health because they originate form the wild itself, and even the evolution has left important carnivore characteristics as their main features. Their organism is developed in a way to support that claim: strong and pointy teeth, scissors-like bite, digestive system adapted to digesting raw meat, claws for catching prey…
Barf is an ideal source of proteins and other necessary ingredients for carnivores organism since it is easy to digest, while the heat treatment of the raw material makes it lose its nutrients, that is it changes the physical and chemical properties of the product, so it no longer satisfies the necessary nutrition demands, but simply satisfies hunger.
Feeding with our Barf means biologically balanced fresh and raw food by beforehand set nutritive recipe, without the unnecessary and harmful additives (conservatives, taste and smell enhancers, colours), which disrupt the quality of meals, but contain the biologically accessible nutrients which the animal organism can use.
With this kind of diet, the animals get the optimal intake of nutrients (proteins, vitamins, minerals, healthy oils and carbohydrates, good bacteria), through a raw meal of various raw foodstuff, i.e. through the right combination of meat, fat, giblets, cartilage and bones, without losing nutrients, balanced according to the dog’s size, weight, age and current health condition.
